Uninstalling ShellToys XP
When uninstalling ShellToys, the files created during the time you were using it won't be removed. These may include a file named folders.ini created by the Go To Folder tool, and Templates folders created by New From Template. You'll find these in the ShellToys installation folder. However, settings and preferences stored in the Windows Registry are removed.

To avoid losing your existing ShellToys settings when upgrading to a newer version, it's recommended that you install the new version to the same folder as the previous, without uninstalling the old version first.

To uninstall CFi ShellToys XP:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel (Start, Control Panel or Start, Settings, Control Panel).

  2. Click on Add or Remove Programs, or run the Add/Remove Programs applet.

  3. Select the CFi ShellToys XP item and click the Change/Remove (or Add/Remove) button.

  4. In most cases you will be prompted to restart your computer. After the computer restarts, locate the folder to which ShellToys XP was installed. You can manually delete any files it contains (and, optionally, the folder itself).
